Our Evangelist - Mark Stinnett

Mark was born on August 15, 1958 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He grew up in small towns in the south with his father, a preacher, mother, and three sisters. Mark studied Bible and biblical languages at Harding University, graduating with a B.A. in 1981. Feeling somewhat immature, Mark admits photo of Mark Stinnett that he was not ready to begin preaching full time. Mark attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and earned his teaching certificate in secondary mathematics.

After college Mark taught 7th grade math in the public school system in Kahoka, Mo. After eight years he left the classroom, but continued in public education. Mark spent the next 12 years in the area of computer technology support working for the Jefferson City Public Schools, and the Independence School District.

Mark has been been involved in the teaching and preaching of God's word throughout his Christian life. No other work gives him greater satisfaction than to help people understand God's message. Mark had always believed that he would someday preach full-time but did not believe that the "right" opportunity would be presented until after retirement from his career in education. Mark says, "The opportunity to begin a full-time work with the Ellisville congregation has been a blessing beyond my expectations."

Mark met Kristin Winget while at Harding and they were married in 1981. Mark claims that Kristin "has been my constant support and continually works hard to be a godly wife and mother. We have lived and worked in Missouri all of our married life and enjoy our five daughters: Jessica, Hannah, Katherine, Abigail, and Emily."

Mark says, "I am thrilled to be able to preach. If I can present the message of God in a loving, honest, and clear manner without getting in the way of the message, I will have accomplished my task. For that my endeavor is to deliver an authentic message of hope through a genuine life in Christ."

"I am moved and motivated by the words of Isaiah:", explains Mark. "' To this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at my word.' (Isaiah 66:2) To gain the attention of God is the greatest blessing in this life. What is there beyond that except to see His face throughout eternity? It is my present desire to live these words and foster the same attitude and longing in those I influence."
