Leadership In following the Biblical plan for church leadership, the Ellisville church of Christ is under the authority of local elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7). We currently have 2 elders - Tim Aly and Ed Gershenson. Tim Aly Tim was born on February 27, 1951 in Colorado Springs. He is the oldest of nine children. Tim attended Catholic schools through high school. He served 21 months in the Army, including a tour in Vietnam. Tim has been employed by Barnes-Jewish Hospital for 33 years in the Radiology department. He met his wife Susan at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. They've been married 26 years and
have 4 children: Allison (24), Lindsay (22) and twins Cameron and Caroline (17).A member of Ellisville church of Christ since 1995, Tim was appointed as elder in 2003. Tim says, "My wife had had the biggest impact on my spiritual life. She is a great example and encouragement. My children inspire me every day - by their actions, by their concern for others, and by their desire to serve God." "I am honored to serve this congregation as an elder", Tim says. "My responsibilities as a shepherd of this flock are always foremost on my mind and my desire is that the life we live here on this earth is preparing us for eternal life." Contact Tim. Ed Gershenson Ed was born in 1949. He has been married for 25 years to wife Lisa, father of four children - Lauren, Jennifer, Michael and Kelly. Ed has worshipped with the Ellisville church of Christ for approximately 8 years, and was appointed an elder in 2003."I am honored to serve the Lord’s people in this capacity and the privilege to work with the other elders. Over the years I have been exposed to some great examples of other effective and very humble men serving as elders. I hope to use this blessing as I serve the congregation, accompanied with the prayers of my fellow saints. I desire to foster an environment in our congregation that edifies and promotes members to grow spiritually, wherein our Father is gloried by changed lives", says Ed. Contact Ed. |
